Presidential Grants Foundation: Development of Social-oriented Intellectual Volunteering and Social Entrepreneurship in Universities.

The project aims to develop and implement modules of applied project-based learning at the Moscow and St. Petersburg campuses of the Higher School of Economics and five regional universities. These modules will help university students enhance their social competencies through engagement in social entrepreneurship activities, including "Project-based Service Learning." The pilot phase of the project was launched at the campuses of the National Research University Higher School of Economics in Moscow and St. Petersburg.

Project. "Tools of business ethics management: measurement of ethics and social responsibility of the company, ethics training in the company and mechanism of self-regulation of ethics on the market" (leader Storchevoy Maxim Anatolievich).

The adoption of ethical norms in economic activity is a condition of its sustainability, efficiency, and public approval. Business ethics is the most demanded field of ethical research and practical development; this project is planned to be self-supporting. Applied directions of the project: 1) development of ethics in Russian companies through the development and promotion of training courses and pieces of training for employees and managers, integration of ethical norms into the corporate culture of companies, 2) prevention of unethical behavior on the market through various self-regulation projects (associations, professional communities, codes, etc.).

Service Learning, Cybersport, and Worldview: HSE University at the World Youth Festival

The World Youth Festival held in the Sirius Federal Territory closed on March 6. A substantial team from HSE University was actively involved in the event. Here are some of the key projects and discussions at the WYF involving participants from HSE University.

XIV International Conference on Higher Education Took Place at HSE University

This year’s conference topic was ‘Student Experience at a Modern University: from an Enrollee to a Graduate’. Over the three days, researchers from Russia and other countries discussed the individual and institutional factors that determine students' educational experience, the impact of this experience on educational performance, and its influence on labour market success. The conference took place from October 25–27 and featured over 90 presentations.

‘Students Start Seeing the Connection between the Knowledge They Gain and Real Life’

From next year, students of the Bachelor's programme 'Political Science and World Politics' will be able to develop their project skills in a specialised seminar and a course of projects based on a 'project service learning' method. Magdalena Gaete, Head of the Laboratory for Reputation Management in Education (RepLab), will deliver the project seminar and coordinate projects. We talked to Prof. Gaete about what students should expect from the programme and why participation in projects is useful.
