HSE’s Projects for the City

Staff from the Design Laboratory (the design wing of the HSE School of Design) teamed up with design students to carry out an extensive study on the territorial branding of Moscow’s various districts. In addition, undergraduate and graduate students of HSE MIEM developed ‘smart systems’ for monitoring urban space and managing energy consumption and lighting systems. The projects were presented to Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin during his most recent visit to the Higher School of Economics. 

Nadejda Trubochkina’s Fractal 3D–Stereo Film Wins at 7th International 3D-stereo Film Festival

On December 22-23, 2016, the 7th International 3D-stereo Film Festival was held in Moscow. At the opening of the festival Nadejda Trubochkina, Professor at HSE School of Computer Engineering, presented a report on fractal technologies in cinema.

MIEM at 5th Moscow Architecture Biennale

The MIEM Centre for Fractal Art presented a ‘Fractal architecture’ project by Nadezhda Trubochkina, and she was awarded the diploma of the Moscow Architecture Biennale for presenting new opportunities for using fractal mathematics and IT technologies for architects and interior designers.

#attackoftheoptoclones: ‘Magic of Light’ Exhibition Opens on Myasnitskaya

On 10th February the exhibition of light installations, holograms and OptoClones®, ‘Magic of Light’ organised by ITMO University, St Petersburg and the Hellenic Institute of Holography opened to the public at the Saltykov-Chertkov mansion on Myasnitskaya Ulitsa. HSE has contributed some of the works in the exhibition.
