About me

My research interests lie in the fields of migration studies and mobilities studies. I began as a historian, completing a thesis on the history of Russian-German deportations and migrations. I went on to study international relations, focusing on comparative citizenship studies and looking at the repatriation and co-ethnic migration policies of Germany, Russia and Kazakhstan. My sociological research at the Higher School of Economics focuses primarily on the biographies of Russian-German co-ethnic migrants in Germany.
