Post-graduation Leave after Final State Certification
Upon successful completion of the Final State Certification (FSC), students may be granted post-graduation leave. The duration of the post-graduation leave is determined according to the HSE Academic Calendar for the current academic year.
For the 2025/2026 academic year, post-graduation leave is granted until 11 August.
Procedure for Granting a Leave
Before the start of the FSC, students in their graduating year may submit an application for post-graduation leave through the "Graduation" module on iStudy (istudy.hse.ru)
For students who have applied for post-graduation leave, a directive will be issued granting the leave. The end date of this leave will align with the HSE Academic Calendar for the current academic year.
Degree certificates are issued no later than eight working days after the FSC completion date, as established in the academic calendar. This includes students who are on leave.
Students who apply for post-graduation leave retain their student status.
- Scholarship Payments: Students studying in government-funded places and eligible for scholarships will continue to receive scholarship payments throughout the leave period.
- Dormitory Access: Students residing in dormitories will retain their accommodation rights until the end of their leave period (i.e., formal dismissal).
Students who do not apply for post-graduation leave will be dismissed from HSE University upon successful completion of the FSC due to the conclusion of their studies.
