On April 27-28, 2026, the VI International Scientific and Practical Conference
“АВТОР/AUTHOR – 2026” will be held.
The topic of the conference is “Author x AI = IP?” The forum is organized by the Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent), Federal Institute of Industrial Property (FIPS), Eurasian Patent Organization (EAPO), “UNESCO Chair on Copyright, Neighboring, Cultural and Information Rights” at the “Higher School of Economics” (UNESCO Chair at HSE University), Russian State Academy of Intellectual Property (RGAIS).
The conference “ АВТОР/AUTHOR – 2026” is traditionally timed to the World Book and Copyright Day (April 23), declared by UNESCO in 1995, and the World IP Day (April 26), proclaimed by WIPO in 2000. The forum is organized as an associated event of the Intellectual Property Days in the Russian Federation, held on the initiative of the UNESCO Chair since 2003.
The theme of the conference is “Author x AI = IP?”. The discussion will focus on the problems and prospects of legal regulation of the use of artificial intelligence technologies in the work of inventors and innovators, writers and composers, producers and artists, television and recording companies, developers of trademarks, computer programs, integrated circuit topologies, etc.
Representatives of relevant ministries and departments, parliamentary committees and commissions, Intellectual Property Court, creative unions, patent offices, collective rights management societies, as well as Russian and foreign legal experts, patent attorneys, lawyers, inventors, practicing lawyers, students, graduate students and university professors, and researchers from research centers in Russia and abroad are invited to participate in the conference.
The conference will be held in Moscow at the premises of the National Research University Higher School of Economics (11 Myasnitskaya Street), Rospatent (24 Berezhkovskaya Embankment, Building 1), EPO (13 Myasnitskaya Street), and the Russian State Academy of Information Systems (22 Miklukho-Maklaya Street).
The conference format would be offline with the possibility of online participation for non-residents and open access broadcasting. Working languages of the conference are Russian and English. Applications for participation in the conference are accepted on the website of the UNESCO Chair at HSE University: for speakers - till April 6, 2026; for offline participants– till April 20, 2026, for online participants – till April 25, 2026. Successful registration is confirmed automatically: a corresponding message appears on the screen.
On the website, you can also take part in the expert survey “Artificial art: a Window into Creativity or Paper Flowers for a Mechanical Piano?” and in the expert survey “Legal Conflicts of Generative Content”.
The conference program is formed on the basis of applications, taking into account the content of the abstracts sent to tis@hse.ru. Requirements for abstracts: 1-2 pages, font size 14 TNY, spacing 1.15. Please note that the abstracts will not be published: they are used only for the formation of the program.
For candidates and doctors of science, submitting abstracts is not mandatory. For students, in addition to abstracts, a recommendation from a teacher-supervisor is required.
Nonresident and foreign speakers whose presentations will be included in the conference program may receive personal invitations to arrange a business trip, if necessary. After the conference, speakers will be able to receive the appropriate certificates (Certificate of Attendance).
Reports of conference participants can be published in the quarterly journal “Works on Intellectual Property” and the journal “Copyright” (Vestnik RGAIS), as well as in FIPS Bulletin.
