The Higher School of Economics hosted an open discussion 'Freedom and Responsibility in the Public Sphere' on March 6, 2013.
Should university representatives adhere to their university's specific values and culture outside its walls? Should we put down in writing our shared values and, for example, create a code of ethics for the university? Are the university's current internal regulations suitable as guidance in such a complex matter as the balance between freedom of expressing one's personal opinion and respect for others? HSE Rector Yaroslav Kuzminov invited all interested students, faculty and staff of the university to discuss these three questions.
