I am happy to write a note in support of Konstantin Bagrationi. I have just been sent a paper he has coauthored, for me to review, and I can see that the approach taken is both original and highly relevant to innovation management. Having seen video of him teaching, I can see that he presents material very effectively, and engages the students in his classes. In the course of visits to Moscow, I have met him on several occasions to discuss mutual interests. I have been impressed by his range of knowledge and eagerness to share his experience and insights, and look forward to future discussions, and to following his future contributions to research.

I was on exchange from January till June 18‘ and I had the pleasure to had Konstantin as my Professor in 2 courses during this time. I really don’t know where to start but I want to explain that it was Konstantin at my first lecture (ever in Moscow at HSE) and he fascinated me by the first lecture to enroll for his second course. In the first course „Socio- psychological Foundations of Project Management“ he took the half of all students to show and teach us the way and power by emotions during a project work. I will never forget this moment when he took all of our attention, so that I did not even thought about a second to enroll for the second course „Managing Project Management“. And I didn’t regret this decision. He managed to impress the whole class with his presentations about the shapes and types of several characteristics and gained the student- audiences by refraining from sharing this topic and encouraging my peers to engage and participate in many different social aspects simulations through project works. Time after time every student shared and demonstrated once his/her favourite topic related to the course and we have discussed it so that we have learned a lot from each other. Konstantin was able to contribute deep insights and unique perspectives, most notably drawn from his desire to gain new academic knowledge.
To be honest, I have been nothing but impressed by his way of teaching.

He was very clear from the start on, he told us from the very beginning (almost at every lecture a student ask) the grading criteria for the course. The quality, amount, and level of classroom instruction as well as one-on-one consultation with students were professional so we had such a perfect environment. The samples of his teaching materials, such as course syllabi, and „picture- tapes“ of classroom teaching were comprehensible and open to scutiny.

It seems like that I am evaluating a friend and not a professor. And this is true also because on the one hand at the current moment I am a gratuated Industrial Engineer who never had subjects and courses connecting with the social aspects of business administration and had no touch with it. I highly appreciate what I ve learned and on the other hand I really didn’t know what will I be after graduation. He encouraged me at the end of the last subject to do a PhD and become a Professor and I am very, very thankful that I met such a friend, professor and role model like him.

Regards,
Michael Sidhom
