Laboratory for Comparative Social Research staff congratulates LCSR co-founder and chief research fellow Ronald Inglehart on his birthday!

Yogender Singh and Samarth Singh are second-year undergraduate students at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. Without official partnership between the two universities, both Yogender and Samarth took the initiative to apply to HSE themselves. This summer, they are completing two-month research internships at the HSE International Laboratory of Decision Choice and Analysis, under the wings of Professor Fuad Aleskerov.

From July 2 to July 5, staff of the ILSCR took part in the XVI European Congress of Psychology (ECP 2019), which this year was held in Moscow.

Professor Emeritus John W. Berry of Queen’s University, Kingston Ontario, Canada and the National Research University Higher School of Economics, Moscow, Russia as the winner of the 2019 William B. Gudykunst Outstanding Book Award for his edited book: Mutual Intercultural Relations published by the Cambridge University Press, 2017.

Main goal of his report was an attempt to review in general terms the main results of the project “Political Conflict in Europe in the Context of the World Economic Crisis”.

Ronald Inglehart (LCSR HSE, University of Michigan) gave a talk at the 9th LCSR International Workshop “Comparative Social Research” with report “From an Authoritarian Personality to an Authoritarian Reflex: Evolving Views on a Sustainable Phenomenon.”

Within the framework of the 9th LCSR International Workshop “Comparative Social Research” with an honorary report on the topic “Measurement Equivalence? A Tale of False Obsessions and a Cure” was made by Christian Welzel (LCSR HSE, Leufana University Luneburg).

April 5-6 the VI International Research Conference "Culture in society, between groups and across generations", organized by the International Laboratory for Socio-Cultural Research at the Expert Institute of the Higher School of Economics took place in Moscow.

20 марта 2019 года состоится Конференция работников и обучающихся ВШЭ. Этот коллегиальный орган управления университета собирается раз в пять лет. Предыдущая конференция проводилась в 2014 году. ИСИЭЗ на конференции представят пять делегатов.
