The HSE Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge conducted a survey of more than 2 thousand Russian doctorate holders, in order to assess the situation with foreign language skills among highly qualified scientific personnel.

On October 23 Tatarko A. N. (Doctor of Psychology, Professor, Chief Researcher, International Laboratory for Socio-Cultural Research, HSE) took part in the "Culture matters" research seminar at the site of the International Workshop "From values to behavior: interdisciplinary studies of regional differences in Russia", conducted by the International Laboratory for Experimental and Behavioral Economics HSE, with the report "Ethnic diversity and social capital in the Russian context (on the example of 25 regions)".
DOM.RF commissioned to the HSE ISSEK Foresight Centre an analysis of more promising technological solutions for construction of housing; the results are presented in the publication 'The Future of Housing: Best Technological Development Practices'. The report outlines how housing construction, and urban environment generally are likely to develop (including in the scope of the 'smart city' concept).

From 14 to 16 October 2018, the 9th All-Russian Congress of Councils of Young Scientists “Meeting big challenges” was held in Sochi in the Park of Science and Art “Sirius”. The goal of the event is widening of the networking cooperation and coordination of work of councils of young scientists in order to join efforts in solving strategic tasks of development of Russia. The Congress was held in the framework of the Annual International Summit of Young Scientists and Engineers “Great challenges for society, state and science”. Senior research fellow G.Penikas gave a talk at the conference.
