From June 24-25 Professor Mariano Laplane, President of the Center for Strategic Studies and Management in Science, Technology and Innovation (CGEE), Brazil, was on a two-day visit at the HSE. As a result, an Agreement of Understanding was signed, which defined the areas for further cooperation between the Center and the HSE. Professor Laplane gave a public lecture on the Brazilian experience of making science and technology policy and discussed some guidelines for joint projects with colleagues from the HSE Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge.
The theory-and-practice seminar hosted by the HSE’s ISSEK on 20 June, 2013 was devoted to the main trends of long-term Foresight studies in Russia and other countries. Speakers included leading experts of the Higher School of Economics’ Foresight Centre Jean Guinet, Sergei Shashnov, and Alexander Chulok.

The 4th INCO Conference, “Strengthening international cooperation in Research & Innovation Experiences from Latin America and the Caribbean, and Mediterranean Partner Countries”, and the annual NCP meeting took place on 17—19 June 2013 in Marseille, France. The event focused on the future of international cooperation in Research and Innovation in Horizon 2020. It was held as a part of “INCONTACT—One World” project which is the official network of the FP7 INCO NCPs. The Russian INCO NCP, organised within the HSE ISSEK, was represented by Liliana Proskuryakova.
