On November 10, the third event of a series of seminars on the topic "Current approaches and methods in landscape and environmental research" took place.

The International Laboratory of Landscape Ecology in the period from October 27 to December 15 holds a series of seminars on the topic "Current approaches and methods in landscape and environmental research". The second seminar of the series took place on November 3, 2022.

Centres’ Senior Researcher, Professor Croitoru has visited the Theory group of Professor E. Buzdin at the Laboratory Des Deux Infinis de Bordeaux (LP2IB/CENBG/University of Bordeaux-CNRS/IN2P3) for joint research.

On October 27, 2022, the first seminar "Energy and mass transfer of arid ecosystems - research experience at the Forest Yatir biostation in Israel" was held.

On October 4, 2022, the Head of the Laboratory, R.B. Sandlersky, took part in the annual seminar "Homeostatic Mechanisms of Biological Systems" organized by the N.K. Koltsov Institute of Developmental Biology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the A.N. Severtsov Institute of Ecology and Evolution of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Center for Sustainable Development and Environmental Health within the framework of the RAS Program "Biodiversity of Natural systems and biological resources of Russia".

Researchers of the HSE University and the Southern Federal University (SFedU) have tested a new method for studying the perception of facial emotional expressions. They suggest that asking subjects to recognise emotional expressions from dynamic video clips rather than static photographs can improve the accuracy of findings, eg in psychiatric and neurological studies. The paper is published in Applied Sciences.

In July-August of the current year, Laboratory employees Anna Derkacheva and Robert Sandlersky took part in field studies of forest geosystems in Northwestern Mongolia as part of the Joint Russian-Mongolian Complex Biological Expedition of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Academy of Sciences of the MPR under the IPEE RAS.

In June 2022, laboratory employee Grigory Chernov presented the report Introduction to structured learning and causal discovery.

Another stage of the joint scientific research within the large-scale institutional international project CAPES-PrINT  was held by the Director of the Centre, Professor Dr. Alexey Vagov  at the University of Pernambuco (Brazil). The research stage was dedicated to the study of multi-zone superconductivity. The promising scientific results were achieved together with the group of Professor Dr. Albino.
