On April 14, 2026 Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge (ISSEK) of the National Research University Higher School of Economics held section “Forecasting socio-economic and science and technology development in dynamically changing external environment: methods, models and results” within academic theme "Foresight studies" of XXVI April International Academic Conference named after Evgeny Yasin. Participants discussed key areas of country's development in the context of economic and political turbulence. 

Participants of International Symposium "Foresight in a Rapidly Changing World" at the XXVI April International Academic Conference Named After Evgeny Yasin attempted to find answers to questions such as how to process large amounts of unstructured data, how to integrate artificial intelligence into analytical processes, and how to understand when innovation is ready to enter the market. "The world is changing, and we need to change our Foresight methodology along with it," emphasized Olesia Maibakh (HSE ISSEK Foresight Center), moderator of session "Foresight: New Approaches and Methods." The four presentations complemented each other, forming a unified picture: from a specific instrumental solution to infrastructure, from infrastructure to governance, and finally, to how to determine the moment for specific actions.

From 11–18 April, Anna Korchak, a Junior Research Fellow at the International Laboratory for Research and Design in e-learning and a Doctoral Student at the IOE, completed a research internship at East China Normal University (ECNU) in Shanghai. The visit focused on the role of generative AI in collaborative academic writing.

The second session of International Symposium “Foresight in a Rapidly Changing World” within XXVI April International Academic Conference named after Evgeny Yasin focused on finding answers to these questions. The discussion, which brought together experts from Russia, Canada, France, and Brazil, was moderated by Yulia Milshina, Deputy Director of the ISSEK Foresight Center (HSE University).

On 18 April 2026, during the Sixth Student Biochemical Forum at the Faculty of Biology, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Dr. Evgeny N. Knyazev, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor and Head of the Laboratory of Molecular Physiology at the HSE University Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, delivered an invited lecture entitled “Microfluidic Devices for Organ-on-a-Chip Modeling” within the “Advanced Research Methodologies” session.

The conference aims to advance landscape ecology as a scientific basis for territorial management under conditions of global change and increasing natural and climate‑related risks. The purpose of the conference is to analyze and discuss the current state and future prospects of landscape ecology in Russia and worldwide, to consider modern methodological approaches and empirical findings, and to create a scientific platform for exchange of experience and development of national and international research cooperation. Special attention will be paid to applied aspects of landscape ecology and their use in environmental and spatial planning, climate change adaptation, and natural risk management.

Dr. V. A. Grinenko, researcher at the Li Zhengdao Institute of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, has told the seminar participants about the new data on spontaneous fields and clustering of vortices in the Sr2RuO4 superconductor and their explanation.

Special workshop on Foresight-studies in BRICS countries took place in the framework of XV International Academic Conference ‘Foresight and Science, Technology and Innovation Policy’. Experts from Russia, China, South Africa, Brazil, Egypt, Iran and India discussed the role of Foresight in STI policy, AI usage in forecasting and challenges of digital era.
