Cooperation Agreement between HSE and École Polytechnique (Paris, France)

On October 18, 2018, Higher School of Economics and École Polytechnique signed an agreement on academic cooperation at the French Embassy in Moscow. The agreement will be serve as a basis for future student and teacher exchange, as well as future scientific and cultural cooperation between the two universities.

Starting from its foundation in 1794 in Paris, École Polytechnique became one of the leading educational institutions in France, having three Nobel Prize winners and three presidents of France among its graduates.

Deputy Director for Education and Science, Benoit Devaux, headed the delegation of École Polytechnique at the Embassy of France. On behalf of the Higher School of Economics, the agreement was signed by Vice-Rector Ivan Prostakov. The HSE delegation also included Alexei Naumov, Head of the International Laboratory of Stochastic Algorithms and High-Dimensional Inference, and Professor Charles Favre, the President of the Mathematical Center of Laurent Schwartz at École Polytechnique and a visiting professor at HSE. They presented the achievements of scientific cooperation between the two universities in the area of mathematics and computer science.
