On June 19 the Higher School of Economics signed a cooperation agreement with Hitotsubashi University in Japan. The agreement covers mutual visits for lecturers and researchers, student exchange programmes, as well as joint research projects, academic events, and publications.

On 21^st March 2017 the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) was organizing the Research Management Workshop at the Residence of H.E.Excellency Ambassador of Australia in Moscow, where Professor Igor Agamirzian, HSE Vice President delivered a speech on Information Technologies as a Platform for Building R&D Partnerships for Engineering Education at HSE. Vice President was speaking about transforming a field-specific institution into a comprehensive university and presented a concept of education in engineering at HSE. The next day, on 22^nd March 2017 Professor Nick Mansfield, Dean of Higher Degree Research at Macquarie University, Australia came to HSE to discuss potential opportunities for research collaboration and, particularly, Cotutelle in philology, computer science, physics with HSE.

Dirk Meissner, Professor at the Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge and the Academic supervisor of the Master’s Programme ‘Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation’, has talked to HSE English-language news bulletin, The HSE Look, about programme development and achievements.

Double degree programme is launched on ICEF MSc ‘Financial Economics’. Starting from 2017/2018 intake, ICEF students can obtain a second Master’s Degree in Economics and Finance from LUISS University (Rome, Italy). Partner universities each award two individual qualifications upon completion of the collaborative programme requirements.

Erasmus Mundus Action 2 project AURORA  – Towards Modern and Innovative Higher Education has closed on 14.07.2016. Altogether 240 academic mobilities and visits were implemented throughout the project lifetime.

HSE and East-China Normal University (ECNU) have signed a new student exchange agreement expanding the range of opportunities for student mobility in all areas of studies, including social studies, humanities, and philosophy, as well as computer science, mathematics, and physics. The agreement was signed as part of the ECNU delegation’s visit headed by Tong Shijun, chairman of the ECNU University Council, to HSE.

Funding through the European programme Erasmus+ will be allocated to the development of a Master’s programme in clinical linguistics, the organization of a summer school on institutional analysis, and the creation of Russia's first courses on education law. 

The Higher School of Economics (HSE) has signed an agreement on establishing a joint double degree master’s programme with the University of Paris-IV (Sorbonne) in partnership with the French University College in Moscow. The agreement is applicable to following master's programmes: Philosophical Anthropology, Historical Knowledge, History of Artistic Culture and the Art Market, and Philosophy and History of Religion.

On June 27, 2016, the first graduation ceremony for the double-degree Master’s programme in Big Data Systems and Information Systems Management was held at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow. The ceremony marks three years of successful collaboration between HSE and University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien.

In March 2016, the School of Business Informatics (Faculty of Business and Management) at HSE was visited by a delegation from France’s University of Évry; in late 2015, a student exchange agreement was signed between HSE and this university. The delegation brought 19 students from the Master’s programmes in the field of big data at the University of Évry to Moscow.
