Abstract

The course concerns principles and methods of linguoculturological approach to the theory and practice of intercultural communication based on the most important issues of the approach in question, taking into consideration the phenomenon of close interaction of language and culture, with special attention to the role of language in the process of cultural concepts representation, including the problem of the World view formation. Through lectures, practical assignments, classroom discussions and engaged methodology students will explore the theoretical issues that will provide them with basic knowledge on Linguoculturology in terms of its role in Intercultural communication.

  • to give the students a grounding of basic linguoculturological theories, methodology and scientific approaches Intercultural communication through the prism of linguoculturology;
  • to teach the students to analize linguocultural phenomena, significant for intercultural communication in terms of its basic theoretical and practical issues concerning with effective and successful solutions of communication problems on the basis of linguoculturological studies;
  • to train the students for skill based intercultural communication, taking into consideration basic linguculturological issues.

  • Linguoculturology as a Science and Academic Discipline
    The Subject of Linguoculturology, Methods and Methodology. Basic Linguoculturological Categories and Notions (culture, language, cultural semes, cultural background, cultural space, cultural context, cultural traditions, cultural heritage, cultural process, cultural connotation, linguocultureme, linguistic cultural community, mentality, linguocultural paradigm, cultural basics, cultural values, cultural concepts, linguistic and cultural universals, linguistic and conceptual world of view).The Interdisciplinary Fields of Linguoculturology (anthropology, cultural antropology, cultural studies, linguistics, cognitive linguistics, sociolinguistics, ethnolinguistics, ethnopsycholinguistics, area studies).
  • Linguoculturology as the Basics of Intercultural Communication
    Basic Linguoculturalogical Approaches (diachronic, comparative, lexicographic, conceptological and linguoconceptological, semiotic and linguosemiotic) in terms of Intercultural Communication Studies.
  • Language and Culture Interrelations in Terms of Linguoculturological Studies and Intercultural Communication
    Wilhelm von Humboldt and His Linguistic and Cultural Philosophical Views. Humboldt as the Originator of the Linguistic Relativity Hypothesis. Anthropological Linguistics as “the First Paradigm” (grammatical description, typological classification, linguistic relativity). The Hypothesis of Linguistic Relativity by Edward Sapir and Benjamin Whorf.     Экзамен проводится в устной форме (опрос по материалам курса). Экзамен проводится на платформе https://teams.microsoft.com/ или https://us04web.zoom.us/ или https://join.skype.com/. К экзамену необходимо подключиться согласно расписанию ответов, высланному преподавателем на корпоративные почты студентов накануне экзамена. Компьютер студента должен удовлетворять требованиям: наличие рабочей камеры и микрофона, поддержка Ms Teams/ Zoom/ Skype. Для участия в экзамене студент обязан: поставить на аватар свою фотографию, явиться на экзамен согласно точному расписанию, при ответе включить камеру и микрофон. Во время экзамена студентам запрещено: выключать камеру, пользоваться конспектами и подсказками. Кратковременным нарушением связи во время экзамена считается нарушение связи менее минуты. Долговременным нарушением связи во время экзамена считается нарушение минута и более. При долговременном нарушении связи студент не может продолжить участие в экзамене. Процедура пересдачи подразумевает использование усложненных заданий.
