Мероприятие завершено

Join us for an open lecture  with the new master`s program “Science of Learning and Assessment”

The event will be held in Zoom on November, 17th, 13:00-14:20 Moscow time. Pre-registration is required for this event, the link will be sent out to participants' email addresses.

About the event

Math is essential for STEM majors and occupations that are progressively on demand.  Mathematics is a core subject in school curricula and neuroscientist have investigated the brain areas associated with numbers and math problem solving. Research shows that a large overlap exists among brain regions that activate to number and calculation tasks, however the brain regions in which they differ are most notable, such as distinct areas in the prefrontal cortex.  Moreover, addition, subtraction, and multiplication differentially implicate the parietal and prefrontal cortex in the left and right hemispheres.  This presentation will focus on neuroscience evidence to highlight implications for teacher’s professional development and students learning experiences and discuss the importance of Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience in evidence-based education.
