Hidden Champions: Who They Are and How to Study Them

The HSE Graduate School of Business Institute of Innovation Management (HSE IIM) studies high-growth companies and offers education and advice to their founders and managers. As part of the project, it presented a report on Kazakhstan’s ‘hidden champions’—companies that grow rapidly, but with a low level of publicity. The HSE News Service talked to the report’s authors, Christian Kahl from Beijing Jiaotong University and Aigerim Raimzhanova from Narxoz University in Almaty, as well as Alexander Stepanov, head of the project at HSE IIM.

Innovations go East!

Russia proposes stepping up international cooperation to support innovative clusters, fast-growing high-tech companies, and technology commercialisation in the APEC. The Russian delegation presented relevant initiatives on innovation-based development in the Asia-Pacific region (designed with the participation of HSE expert) at the 10^th meeting of the APEC Policy Partnership on Science, Technology, and Innovation (May 11-13, 2017, Hanoi, Vietnam). The proposals were accepted, and their implementation will start in the autumn of 2017.
