The International College of Economics and Finance (ICEF). part of the State University - Higher School of Economics in Moscow, was established in 1997 with the academic support of LSE. The International College of Economics and Finance (ICEF). part of the State University - Higher School of Economics in Moscow, was established in 1997 with the academic support of LSE. This autumn 25 students celebrated their graduation at a ceremony hosted by the British ambassador Tony Brenton at his official residence. Six students gamed first class honours, while, overall. 84 per cent received University of London first or or second class honour degrees.Of the 25 graduates, five are continuing their studies.
at western universities, three of them at LSE. The Russian company Basic Element is supporting two of these students with full scholarships, while the third has gained one of LSE's Michael Peacock awards.
Over four years, nearly 100 students have graduated from ICEF. Students take the University of London External Programme BSc in Economics. Banking and Finance or in Economics and Management, and the Russian state BSc Degree in Economics. Because of ICEF's success and growing interest in British-Russian education collaboration, the project leaders are now working on the establishment of a master's degree in applied economics. LSE is set to share responsibility for ICEF curriculum development, the selection of teachers, the teaching process and academic support services. LSE academics regularly visit ICEF to offer teaching and methodological advice and to participate in research activities at a newly established research centre.
