Webinar on English-taught Master’s Programmes in Political Science, Sociology and Public Administration

On March 14, 2017, at 6:00 pm Moscow time, the HSE Faculty of Social Sciences will hold its first webinar for prospective international master’s students. During the webinar, academic supervisors and leading lecturers will cover HSE’s English-taught master’s programmes in political science, sociology and public administration.

Webinar participants will have an opportunity to learn more about the admissions and study processes, internships and employment opportunities. The webinar will also cover dual degree programmes, student exchanges and internship programmes with Europe’s leading universities in countries such as France, Germany, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Norway and Finland, among others.

Event programme:

  • Presentation of the Comparative Social Research programme: students in this programme are educated in theories and methods of comparing countries, cultures, norms, values and institutions. Rigorous academic training takes place in Moscow, as well as during an internship at Russian or foreign research institutions like King´s College and Tilburg University. Graduates of this programme pursue PhDs or work for such employers as the UNFPA, UNICEF and the World Bank.
  • Presentation of the Population and Development programme: this programme trains experts in evaluating the consequences of demographic changes for economic and social development.  Graduates of this programme can find employment at Russian and international institutions such as the Ministry of Labour, the Ministry of Health Care, the Ministry of Economic Development, and so on.
  • Presentation of the Politics, Economics and Philosophy programme: this programme trains experts who are ready and able to think strategically, solve complex problems and work in interdisciplinary and international teams.
  • Presentation of the Political Analysis and Public Policy programme: this programme combines political science, public administration, NGO management, and other related social sciences. The focus on various specialized policies, actors of policymaking, policy processes, and institutional context is what makes public policy unique and essential for understanding the contemporary world.Graduates of this programme will be equipped to work in governmental bodies, NGOs and in the analytics departments at large companies, such asSeverstal, and Promsvyazbank.
