Опыт работы

Already as a graduate student in Europe, Anna was full-time professionally involved in legal, economic, and policy aspects of transboundary trade and investment by holding several positions, in commodities trading (e.g. Metinvest, Geneva), law firms (e.g. Berwin Leighton Paisner, Brussels office), the UN (UNECE, Geneva), and NGOs (e.g. ICTSD, Geneva). After the completion of her legal clerkship and obtaining the Barrister qualification, she continued in academia with a special interest in becoming a scholar.

In February 2012 Anna started her PhD in law at the Sciences Po Law School that she defended in February 2016, summa cum laude. The title is “Global Good Process Standards and World Trade Law: a Study of Norms and Normativity from Global Law and Governance Perspective”. Thesis jury: rapporteurs Profs. Jean d’Aspremont and Hélène Ruiz Fabri, Alberto Oddenino, Makane Mbengue (president of the jury and thesis co-supervisor), Diego P. Fernández Arroyo (thesis supervisor). For the academic year 2013-14, Anna was a resident visiting scholar at the Georgetown University Law Center, Washington, D.C. During her PhD, Anna taught Public international law at Sciences Po Paris; Law in a global context at Georgetown University Law Center; and EU law at HEC Paris.

After the completion of her PhD, Dr. Aseeva continued to work in the fields of European and international economic law, specialising in WTO law and policy, and foreign investment law and policy, with a particular focus on sustainability issues and exceptions. Her most recent vocational position was at the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, Sustainable Energy Division, with a particular focus on investments in energy efficiency and renewable energy. She has worked and consulted for the Swiss and French governments, UNECE, and the CESE (Economic, Social and Environmental Council - French Constitutional Consultative Assembly).
