Easter Festivals in the Streets of Moscow

Easter decorations and market stalls have already appeared on the streets and squares of central Moscow. As Orthodox Easter this year falls on April 12th, Easter street festivals will take place from April 10th – 19th.

An exhibition of various breeds of chickens will take place on Tverskoy Bulvar; charity workshops will be held in front of the Bolshoi Theatre; tea will be served in the style of old Moscow merchants on Klimentovsky Pereulok (Tretyakovskaya metro station) and a giant Easter cake, ‘kulich’, will be offered to the public on Pushkinskaya Ploshad on April 12th. Organic food produced in monasteries and convents will be sold on 9-11 Vozdvizhenka Ulitsa, while guests will be able to ring bells on Pyatnitskaya Ulitsa and an exhibition of Easter eggs will be open to the public on Bolshaya Dmitrovka.

All locations also have a schedule of concerts and workshops.
