A large-scale exhibition of these two renowned Mexican artists is currently open in the heart of Moscow until March 12.

The exhibition 'Viva La Vida. Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. Paintings and Drawings from Museums and Private Collections’ is on display in Manege, an exhibition centre next to the Kremlin, near Okhotny Ryad metro station. It contains masterpieces by the two great Mexican artists and shares the story of one of the most prominent couples in 20^th-century art.

The exhibition has over 90 works by Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, from all stages of their careers, and includes paintings, drawings and lithography. The exhibits have come from the Dolores Olmedo Museum in Mexico, which has the world’s largest collection of Kahlo’s and Rivera’s paintings; private collections in Europe and Latin America; Juan Coronel Rivera’s (Diego River’s grandson) collection;  Arvil Gallery (Mexico, USA); Pushkin State Museum of Modern Art; and documents from Russian state galleries that have never been exhibited before. The exposition is enhanced by numerous photos and further information about Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera’s life and work.

The exhibition was supposed to close on February 22, but has been extended to March 12.

Tickets: RUB 500 on weekdays, RUB 700 on weekends; audio guide RUB 350 (available in English), with a RUB 1000 deposit.
