Beach Zones and Outdoor Swimming Pools in Moscow Parks Now Open

During these hot summer days, there are plenty of opportunities to relax on a beach without leaving the city. In these spots, you can not only swim and sunbathe, but also play volleyball, mini-football, ping pong and many other activities.

Fili Park

The summer swimming pools in Fili Park are located right on the banks of the Moskva River. The venue offers two adult pools, both 5 x 15 m and 1.5 m deep, as well as a kids’ paddling pool, 3 x 5 m and 60 cm deep. The water comes from the river, passes through a system of filters and is warmed to 24C˚. The beach area features wooden decks, a café, and a sand court for beach volleyball and mini-football.

Swimming pool opening hours: 10 am – 9 pm.

Prices: weekdays 500 RUB per session; 1000 RUB per day. Weekends 1000 RUB per session; 1600 RUB per day. Tickets for kids under 12 are half price. Session times: 10 am–12.45 pm; 1 pm–3.45 pm; 4 pm–9 pm. The price includes a sunbed, and towels are available for an additional fee.

Sokolniki Park

The swimming area is located at 1 Mitkovsky Proezd, Stroenie 1, and includes two swimming pools (20x10m, 1.4m deep and 10x5m, 1m deep). There are also ping pong tables, beach swings, changing booths, beach beds, showers, a café, a sports area, a kids’ area, and a lounge zone. The temperature in the pools is a constant 29C˚.

Opening hours: 9 am – 10 pm. Sessions: 9 am – 12.45 pm; 1 pm–3.45 pm; 4 pm – 9.45 pm.

Prices: Standard zone 1250 RUB per session; 2,500 per day. VIP zone 1500 RUB per session; 3,000 RUB per day.

Putyaevsky Pond in Sokolniki

This pond was renovated in 2012, and the water quality has been carefully monitored to ensure that the water is clean enough for swimming. This year, a beach zone opened at the pond. The infrastructure includes water fountains, changing rooms, a life guard, and a first-aid station.

Opening hours: 10 am – 10 pm. Entrance is free of charge. See the location on the map.

There are beach and leisure areas available in many other Moscow parks, but please note that most of the water areas are not suitable for swimming.
