A major review of the monograph Extra-regional Powers in Latin America in the 21st Century: The Impact of the US, EU, China, and Russia (Brill, 2024), written by Latin America expert, PhD in Political Science, and Senior Research Fellow at HSE University Ekaterina Kosevich, has been published in the leading academic journal Latin American Politics and Society (Cambridge University Press).

The publishing house Nestor-Istoriya (St. Petersburg) has released a book by Ekaterina Kosevich—an expert on Latin America, PhD in Political Science, and Senior Research Fellow at the Center for Comprehensive European and International Studies (CCEIS), HSE University—titled Axolotl: The Legend of a Cowardly Aztec God. Ekaterina Kosevich is both the author of the text and the illustrator: the edition includes 20 original author’s drawings.

On October 28, 2025, a lecture by Latin America expert Ekaterina Kosevich, Senior Research Fellow at the Center for Comprehensive European and International Studies (CEMIS), HSE University, and Editor-in-Chief of the journal "Наукозация", was held at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, Lima).

From October 1 to 3, 2025, St. Petersburg hosted the seventh international forum “Russia and Ibero-America in a Turbulent World: From Common Challenges to Joint Solutions”, organized by St. Petersburg State University together with the Institute of Latin America of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

On September 18, 2025, the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) in cooperation with the Mexican Council on Foreign Relations (COMEXI) held a roundtable discussion on "Russian-Mexican Relations: A View from Moscow and Mexico City."

On August 21, 2025, Ekaterina Kosevich, Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Comprehensive European and International Studies (CCEIS), HSE University, PhD in Political Science and expert on Latin America, participated in the international discussion program OBSERVATÓRIO DE GEOPOLÍTICA on a Brazilian YouTube channel hosted by renowned journalist Luís Nassif.

Ekaterina Kosevich, PhD in Political Science and specialist in Latin America, gave an interview to Radio Cultura Buenos Aires dedicated to the strategies of extra-regional actors in contemporary Latin America.

On April 8, a round table was held on the topic of "Extra-regional alternatives for Latin America: directions and results of bilateral movement", organized by the Institute of Latin America of the Russian Academy of Sciences together with the Center for Comprehensive European and International Studies (CCEIS) of the National Research University Higher School of Economics.

The article "Russian Foreign Policy in Latin America and the Caribbean in the Twenty-first Century" by Ekaterina Kosevich, PhD in Political Science, specialist in Latin American studies, and leading research fellow at the Centre for Comprehensive European and International Studies (CCEIS), was published on November 20, 2022, in the prestigious American scientific journal Latin American Perspectives (Q1, List A of the HSE University). It has been included in the list of the most cited articles published in this journal over the past three years.

The leading international scientific publishing house "BRILL", Holland (List "A" of the National Research University Higher School of Economics) has published a new book by PhD in political science and specialist in Latin America Ekaterina Kosevich «Extra-regional Powers in Latin America in the 21st Century: The impact of the US, EU, China, and Russia».

The idea of dialogue became the unspoken “core” of the EU – Latin America interregional relations, where the creation of the network of trade agreements played an important role, in which the EU was able to succeed noticeably. This article is devoted to political aspects of the chain of trade agreements with Latin America created by the European Union as one of the foundations of the whole complex of interregional relations that develop in accordance with the priority of economy over politics.

The magazine “Iberoamerica” published a joint article by Ekaterina Kosevich and Georgy Kutyrev, researchers at the International Laboratory for Research on World Order Studies and the New Regionalism, entitled “Cooperation between the European Union and Latin America in the field of security.”

The round table “Global Geopolitical Transformations: Opportunities and Implications for Latin America and the Caribbean” was held on October 30, 2023, in Moscow in a mixed format.

The journal “International Processes” published a new article by Ekaterina Kosevich, Ph.D., senior researcher at the International Laboratory on World Order Studies and the New Regionalism and Associate Professor at the Department of International Relations, entitled “Theoretical Foundations of the Foreign Policy of Latin American Countries.”

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the coup in Chile, on September 11, the HSE Daily published an interview with Ekaterina Kosevich, senior researcher at the International Laboratory for Research on World Order and New Regionalism.

A scientific seminar "Enhancing Confidence and Security through Military-Political and Military-Technical Cooperation between Russia and Brazil within BRICS" was held on June 30. The seminar was dedicated to military-political and military-technical cooperation between Russia and Brazil, as well as the development of confidence-building measures and security in bilateral relations and within BRICS. Participants discussed the creation of a consensus-based security framework based on trust-building measures and human security, as well as the possibility of extending this concept to other BRICS countries.

On Thursday, December 9th, 2021, International Laboratory on World Order Studies and the New Regionalism of National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE University) held special online-seminar with renowned experts from the Autonomous University of Madrid on: «Latin America's place in Spain's foreign policy interests: Madrid's view».

On March 16, 2021 Ekaterina Kosevich, PhD in Political Science, Researcher at the International Laboratory on World Order Studies and the New Regionalism at the Higher School of Economics, a specialist in Latin America, delivered an online lecture at the International University of Valencia (VIU, España) on the topic “The place of Latin America in the foreign policy interests of Russia at the beginning of the XXI century.” (“Lugar de América Latina en los intereses políticos exteriores de Rusia a principios del siglo XXI”).

An individual monograph "Mexico in the system of geopolitical coordinates of the beginning of the 21st century" by Ph.D. Ekaterina Yu. Kosevich, Research Fellow of the International Laboratory on World Order Studies and the New Regionalism of HSE University, has been published.

Postdoc at the International Laboratory on World Order Studies and the New Regionalism, Ekaterina Kosevich, a specialist in Latin America, won a competition for financial support for the preparation and publication of scientific review articles, announced by the Russian Foundation for Basic Research (RFBR), within the framework of which a review article "Cybersecurity Strategies of Latin America" will be published in the Russian scientific journal "IBEROAMÉRICA" in 2020. The scientific novelty of the work is determined by the fact that the article for the first time in Russian Latin American studies provides an overview of national cybersecurity strategies, which to date have been approved only in six countries of this region.

The scientific seminar dedicated to the presentation of the individual monograph by Ekaterina Yu. Kosevich “Mexico in modern world politics” was held in the International Laboratory on World Order Studies and the New Regionalism of HSE University on September 18.
