Research topics for potential students (VKR + PhD)

Topics of interest for potential BSc/BA/MSc/MA/PhD students for 2022/23

Basic rules:

  1. I am interested in supervising academic research projects of students with ambition to publish results of their thesis, that is:
  • BSc students who want to apply for competitive MSc program in Russia or abroad, and
  • MSc students who want to apply for competitive PhD program in Russia or abroad.
  1. For MSc students, there is an option to continue PhD research under my supervision. 
  2. I am not interested in supervising consultancy projects.
  3. I am not able to supervise research work in Russian.
  4. If you do not want to read academic literature, including journal articles, please do not apply to work with me.
  5. I will not approve any topic or accept student without having a short interview. Thus, it is crucially important to send me short email with your CV, 5 sentences explaining topic - what you want to do, and 5 sentences explaining motivation – why you want to work on specific topic and why with me.

 

Open Innovation in Russia

Topic 1: Open innovation in Russia – Case study of company X / This is seen as case study research focused on a company that uses open innovation and you have access to people, to do some number (more than 5) interviews. There can be several students working on this topic (on different companies, of course).

Topic 2: Open innovation in Russia – quantitative analysis / This topic asks for developing questionnaire and collecting data about open innovation in multiple companies (at least 50).

Topic 3: Open innovation in Russia – analyzing co-patenting in Russia / This topic asks for working with patent data from Rospatent database.

Topic 4: Open innovation in Russia – analyzing corporate accelerators / This topic can be approached as quantitative or qualitative study.
