Methodology

The monitoring of Firms' Innovative Activities project implements up-to-date international approaches to innovation measurement and further develops the current practice of statistical measurement in this area.

The project takes its methodological basis from the Oslo Manual, the international standard of observation and interpretation of data on innovation activities of enterprises (OECD/Eurostat, 2018). This ensures the comparability of data and analytical results with a wide range of studies from other countries.

For the analysis of advanced technologies, the project employs the best practices of international surveys of advanced production technologies (including the Survey of Advanced Technology [Canada]). The project's methodology is also informed by many years of cooperation (2009-2017) with the international project European Manufacturing Survey.
