Master class ' Changes and Transformation of the Hungarian Municipal System '

On May 24 a master class 'Changes and transformation of the Hungarian municipal system' by István Hoffman (Eötvös Loránd University, Department of Administrative Law) will be held at HSE. The event is organised by HSE Faculty of Law.

Abstract:
The changes, the opportunities and threats will be reviewed by the lecture "Transformation of the organisational and financial framework of the Hungarian municipal public service provision system". The presentation will show firstly the challenges of the municipal public services system resulted by the Democratic Transition in Hungary. It will analyze the reforms and reform attempts of the 1990s and 2000s and it will show the reimagining of the local public service model in Hungary after 2011/12. The framework of local public service model is strongly impacted by the regulation on municipal asset and financing, therefore the presentation will show the main reforms of this system. The international context of the reforms will be analysed by this lecture, as well.
