- The testing stand that is used for modernization and correction of optimizing algorithms was developed and implemented
- A team of professionals that can solve difficult issues in machine learning and optimization was assembled
- A system that is used for predicting a differences after optimization inclusion was developed. This predictor showed high accuracy in practice.

New conversion optimization system was designed and developed in 6 months. This system allows to decrease cost per action approximately by 30-40% while increasing an amount of conversions by 20-30% (in average). More than 100 clients use the system at this moment.
Engineering and Mathematics School Opens New Master’s Track in AI
The Engineering and Mathematics School run by HSE University and VK is launching a new master’s track: AI Hardware and Software. The track will be part of the Master’s programme ‘Internet of Things and Cyber-physical Systems,’ and will be taught by VK experts and HSE University faculty.
The First Year Results of HSE University and VK Engineering and Mathematics School
Students from the Engineering and Mathematics School, a joint educational programme of HSE University and VK, defended their projects at the VK Moscow office. The students presented technology for generating animated 3D characters, a framework for the PHP language, an open service for creating neural networks and several other innovative IT solutions.
International Olympiad Competitions for University Students and Graduates Supported by VK and Avito
This year’s International Olympiad Competitions for University Students and Graduates, held in 38 subjects, have taken place. Both rounds — qualifying and final — were held in an online format. HSE University and VK Engineering and Mathematics School were the partners of the ‘Computer Systems and Networks’ category, while Avito were the partners for the ‘Applied Mathematics and Computer Science’ category.
Students of Engineering and Mathematics School Present First Project Results
Students of the Engineering and Mathematics School (EMS) launched by HSE University and VK in October 2022 held a Demo Day to showcase the first results of their product- and research-based IT projects. Work on the projects has been conducted under the supervision of experts from the university and mentors from VK.
HSE Academic Council Meets for the Last Time This Academic Year
The meeting was held in person for the first time in over two years. It was attended by Sergey Kravtsov, Russian Minister of Education, and Dmitry Smyslov, Vice President of VK. The Council discussed HSE University’s breakthrough projects in engineering and artificial intelligence and elected new distinguished and tenured professors.
