The HSE Graduate School of Business (GSB) and the Central Bank of Russia are launching the competitive selection of participants for a partner project: the Autumn School in ESG Transformation of the Finance Sector. The Russian-language event for HSE University students will be held from September 27–30, 2022 at the Graduate School of Business campus on Shabolovka.

The Autumn School in ESG Transformation of the Finance Sector is a short-term study programme run by the Central Bank and dedicated to sustainable development and ESG.

Valery Katkalo

The main goal of the event is to immerse students in various aspects of the sustainable development and ESG agenda. ‘Our business school actively develops the ESG agenda. There are a number of initiatives in education and student life devoted to this field, and this academic year will see the launch of the Master’s in Sustainable Business Management,’ explains Valery Katkalo, HSE University First Vice Rector and Dean of the Graduate School of Business. ‘That is why the GSB was very happy to support the Central Bank initiative and to become a partner in organising and running the ESG school. Students from relevant programmes will learn about the current agenda in sustainable development and ESG and its transformation in the new circumstances.’

The school will last four days and boasts a rich programme: the participants will improve their skills in key areas of sustainable development, explore the ESG transformation of the finance industry in detail, and learn about the Central Bank’s sustainable development agenda. Students can look forward to lectures, master classes, business games and public talks.

The speakers of the ESG Autumn School include top managers and specialists from the Central Bank, lecturers and experts from HSE University, and representatives of state bodies, rating agencies, leading companies in the field of sustainable development, analysts, and finance market players.

Those interested in taking part in the event must submit an application, write a motivation letter, and successfully pass the selection process by September 18, 2022 (inclusive). Up to 70 participants will be selected from relevant programmes at the following HSE University faculties:
