The HSE Faculty of Business and Management has launched a new master’s programme, ‘Master of International Management’. The programme, which is the latest addition to the University’s wide array of English-taught programmes, will prepare students for careers in international company management.

In an interview with HSE News Service, HSE Vice Rector Sergey Roshchin discussed HSE University’s transition to distance learning, what changes students can expect in the next academic year, and why digital skills are important even for students in the humanities.

A new Master of Public Administration (MPA) programme has been developed by the Moscow School of Administration Skolkovo, HSE University, Strelka Institute, and the New Economic School, at the initiative of VEB.RF. The programme will teach a total of 500 participants, with the aim of developing administrative staff for 100 Russia’s biggest cities.

HSE researchers have developed a model that will improve the quality of online courses. Dmitry Abbakumov, Head of the Centre for Computational Educational Sciences at the HSE eLearning Office, shared the news at the annual International Meeting of the Psychometric Society 2020.

This year HSE University is launching a new Master's programme in Critical Media Studies. HSE bulletin HSE Look has talked to Olga Baysha, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Communications, Media and Design, who was involved in creating the programme, about her path in academia, research interests, and teaching.

While studying in HSE University’s master’s programmes, students receive an education that is developed with an eye towards specific professional markets, they can pursue research tracks, and they can even design their own individual curricula that incorporate coursework and expertise different programmes. HSE students came up with the idea of building HSE University’s Pokrovka Complex in Minecraft at the very beginning of the lockdown. In May, the opening ceremony was held, where HSE Rector delivered his welcome address, followed by lectures and a concert. HSE University now has a full-fledged virtual campus that brings HSE community closer together. Project organizer Olesya Yakovleva told HSE News Service more about the project.

A number of new projects will form the basis of the educational and scholarly activity at HSE’s School of Philology. These projects will allow the School to expand its scholarly breadth, consolidate its active research teams, and engage new colleagues in collaboration. HSE News Service spoke with School Head Evgeny Kazartsev about the new projects, their anticipated outcomes, and what changes will need to be made in order to bring them to fruition.
