The team of the student project «Dialogues about the East» has launched a new season of the podcast in partnership with the State Oriental Museum. The topic of the first issue was Japanese animation or anime
In the opening series of the new season, 4th-year student of the educational program «Oriental Studies» Ekaterina Kozlova and art critic, employee of the State Oriental Museum, Anna Ivanovna Golda discussed the history and modernity of Japanese animation: how Japanese animators were influenced by Walt Disney and his «Snow White», what features of traditional art can be found in anime today and what the European audience does not notice in the cult work «Spirited away» by Oscar-winning director Hayao Miyazaki.
The team of the project «Dialogues about the East» thanks the State Oriental Museum and hopes for further expansion of cooperation!
