Networking Veranda

Open-air media library

They say that it is best to read in the fresh air, and you'll have the chance to try this out at our open-air library! When you get tired of the noise from the sporting events, come to this corner for some intellectual relaxation. The library has a home-like atmosphere in which you can dive into your favourite books at a nice table among the stacks of books. There will also be free Wi-Fi access to the Bookmate e-library.

Soul Pitch

This space has comfortable pouf chairs for HSE students, alumni or anyone affiliated with the university to exchange information and practice public speaking. The pitch session will consist of short 5-7 minute speeches when people talk about interesting topics such as ‘my career,’ ‘my business,’ ‘a day in the life of a student’ and ‘epic fail. Before speeches begin, Alexander Yanyhbash, a well-known business coach and expert in preparing public speeches and business presentations, will hold the master class ‘Storytelling, or How to Get to the Heart of Things,’ after which it will become clear how to prepare an effective and convincing speech. Plans also include voting for the best speaker in each category. Anyone interested in speaking can send stories in advance to any of the five categories.
Pre-selection of participants is taking place at: http://vk.com/hsepitch.

The most innovative platform of the Networking Veranda will be a real treat for fans of 3D printing experiments. The FabLab Workshop will include a master class called ‘The Wonders of 3D Scanning, or the First Step in Turning Design Ideas into Reality,’ where participants will be able to create their own 3D models of any item! The next creative step is a master class on how to design a crow – is this not every designer’s dream? The technological experiments will conclude with the competition ‘How do you build a creative puzzle?’ But really, how? Come to the FabLab Workshop and learn all about it!
