Course Syllabus

Abstract

The course "English Language in Orthodox Theology" offers an in-depth study of the English language within the context of the Orthodox theological tradition. Students will familiarize themselves with key theological terminology, the nuances of translating liturgical texts into English, and the ideas and works of leading English-speaking Orthodox theologians. The program combines theoretical study with practical application: the analysis of primary sources, comparative analysis of translations, and the reading and discussion of theological texts. Special emphasis is placed on the specifics of conveying Christian concepts in the English language and on the use of theological English in an academic environment.
