Abstract

"Contemporary Art" is a distance course designed to acquaint students not only with the history of changing styles, but also with the transformation of our ideas about the role of the artist. Moving from the avant-garde period to the beginning of our century, the authors of the course will talk about the main events that changed the face of art in the 20th century, talk about the features of the key works of Cezanne, Picasso, Duchamp, Malevich, Rothko and many other artists. We will see the change of “-isms” in the history of art and the emergence of modern art theory, we will characterize the features of the intellectual agenda of today, which is so significant for understanding the modern cultural process.
