Abstract
The objectives of the course "Tools and Methods of Data Analysis in Economics and Finance" are to introduce students to modern specialized programming environments for mathematical and economic problems and to develop students' skills in developing applications for solving research problems. The material of the discipline is intended for use in courses related to setting and solving real economic problems (for example, various sections of theoretical and applied micro- and macroeconomics, marketing), with the construction of mathematical models of economic and social processes, verification of hypotheses, theoretical models, etc. The economic orientation of the course is provided by increased attention to the tasks of processing the results of experiments, simulation modeling and the economic orientation of the tasks solved in practical classes. As a result of course, the student will be able to use modeling tools and the basic functions of MS Excel, Matlab and the R programming language; will gain skills in solving linear programming problems using MS Excel, Matlab, R tools, graphical representation of the results obtained, which ensures the achievement of the DC 0.0.2 level.
