Course Syllabus

Abstract

The present programme of an academic course establishes the minimum requirements to the student’s knowledge and abilities and determines the content and types of studies and reporting. The goal of studying the discipline "Theory and Practice of Translation" consists in acquainting the student with the fundamental aspects of the translation science and with their application for the solution of practical tasks in the field of translation in various communicative situations. As a result of studying the discipline, the students will get to know the key concepts of the translation science, its history and the current state; acquire knowledge about the classification of translation types; be able to apply this knowledge to the solution of specific translation tasks; learn skills of doing adequate translation from a stylistic perspective
