Course Syllabus
Abstract
The course aims to equip students with a range of contemporary sociological approaches required for a comprehensive analysis within the discipline of international relations. Among key focus areas covered are: 1) Global inequalities (race, gender, age); 2) Identities (family and religion); 3) Nation state and nationalism; 4) Consumption and money relations; 5) New science (media, spread of Internet). As a result of the course, students will be able to the nature of the sociological perspective and the major theories of contemporary society and implement them in a practical analysis.
