Course Syllabus

Abstract

The proposed course is designed to introduce students to some areas of decision theory, optimization methods and game theory. Students will be introduced to the basic methods of mathematical modeling and decision making as applied to solving problems in the economic, financial and banking spheres, including decision making under conditions of risk and uncertainty. Various fair sharing procedures will be discussed. Theoretical models are accompanied by numerous practical examples in a variety of industries: making individual and collective decisions, hiring tasks, distribution of influence between company shareholders, etc. The course involves individual and group work on various projects related to real applied problems.
