Abstract

This course aims at providing students with knowledge, practical skills and experience to understand the scientific and systematic methods to perform literature reviews using Bibliometric and Systematic Literature Review (SLR) methods. Furthermore, how the proposed methods could be used craft theory papers and publish them.

  • 1. To student is clear with the aim and purpose/relevance/importance of literature review, before starting the PhD.
  • 2. To student will know how to build comprehensive research keywords on a topic and become more systematic in research design.
  • 3. To student will knowledge of using different Scopus metrics and bibliometric tools and techniques to work literature data.
  • 4. To student will become well versed with software such as VOS viewer, AI based text analytics, Word mapping etc. and to understand how to map a discipline/field or a research area.
  • 5. To student will know how to find research gaps scientifically using bibliometrics and systematic reviews.
  • 6. To student will understand how to write research agendas or propose a framework based on bibliometrics and systematic reviews.
  • 7. To student will learn how to write a research methodology protocol when developing or write an article.
  • 8. To student will understand different process of reviewing literature (interpretive, synthesis, descriptive, matrix, narrative and citations based).
  • 9. The student will develop a bibliometrics and systematic review methods into a publishable paper.
  • 10. The student will learn the ethical disclosure of literature reviews (Transparency, Repeatability, Replicability, Bold, Broad and Rigorous).
