Abstract

This course is aimed at students who have no previous knowledge of Spanish and covers the A2.1 level of the Common European Framework of References for Languages. By the end of the course, the students will be able to understand frequently-used phrases and expressions related to relevant personal experiences (personal data, shopping, places of interest, leisure activities etc.). The students will also learn to communicate when carrying out simple, everyday tasks that do not require more than the simple and direct exchange of information about familiar or habitual matters. They will learn to describe in simple terms aspects of their past and environment, as well as issues related to their basic needs. Authentic resources (songs, videos, etc.) used in the classroom as a means of learning vocabulary and grammar will help them to get acquainted with the spoken Spanish language and the cultural diversity of the Hispanic world.
