In today's interconnected world, more and more people want to learn foreign languages. The most important component in teaching a foreign language is the development of socio-cultural competence, which includes an understanding of the national culture and social norms of native speakers. The study is aimed at creating a set of authentic exercises for the development of socio-cultural competence of Italian language learners based on the series "My Brilliant Friend". With the help of research methods, including content analysis, literary review and selection of methods for the development of socio-cultural competence, the purpose of the research will be achieved. The study will consider aspects that will help strengthen knowledge about the culture of Italy, its traditions, customs, norms of behavior, as well as socio-cultural realities. The results obtained contribute to the expansion of the field of application of language pedagogy and the development of socio-cultural competence based on TV series in the context of the Italian language.
