The impact made by the Foreign Investment Activity of German Multinational Companies on the Russian Economy (Siemens Case-Study)

This research work is devoted to the influence which the German multinational companies can provide to the Russian economy. The influence is estimated with the help of the particular example of the Siemens Company. Chronological framework of research covers the period from the XIX century when the Siemens company entered the Russian market till today.The subject of the following research work is investment activity of the German multinational corporations and major concerns (the Siemens in particular) on the territory of the Russian Federation.The purpose of this work is to estimate the activity of the German multinational corporations on the territory of Russia, as a whole, and to investigate the activity of the company Siemens in particular.The following tasks are set for this research work:1) To reveal various strategies applied by the companies in order to go global. 2) To estimate various strategies revealed in the previous point. To find out all pluses and minuses of the following strategies.3) To consider the main theoretical approaches to that economic influence that multinational corporations can provoke to the recipient’s economy.4) To reveal the main tendencies of development of multinational corporations in the modern world, and also to reveal the role German multinationals play in the world economy. 5) To investigate Siemens company’s activity in the world economy.6) To estimate investment climate of the Russian Federation.7) To investigate the main branch structure of activity of the German multinational corporations in the territory of Russia.8) To investigate the main spheres of the Siemens activity in Russia and to estimate the importance of the company for the Russian economyAs a result of the research it was found out the Siemens Company which is one of the oldest and largest German companies tend to impact the Russian economy in a positive way. This positive impact is reflected with the introduction of innovative technologies that are brought by foreign direct investment of the Siemens Company. In addition, Siemens participates in creation of new jobs, development of infrastructure and implementation of socially significant projects on the territory of Russia.
