Economy of Struggle for Power in Italy by the Example of Political Activity of Silvio Berlusconi

The aim of this work is the identification and the evaluation of the impact of the economic aspects of the struggle for power by example of political activity of Silvio Berlusconi.In the first chapter, we will analyze the electoral system and the system of financing of political parties in Italy. The second chapter gives an overview of the political activities of Silvio Berlusconi. The third chapter will analyze the economic aspects of the struggle for power in Italy.Economy of struggle for power in Italy influences the elections’ results. Party system fragmentation and political party financing allows players to co-operate, creating a coalition. Coalitions are created primarily to gain more seats in the parliament, which allows the parties to receive more funding .Moreover, there is a problem of the limited state budget. Thus, the parties can not be co-operate to a certain level when the level of discontent of citizens of parties’ activity exceeds the level of satisfaction of social programs.Furthemore, the impact of political activity Silvio Berlusconi is significant as on the activities of its companies and as on the economy of the country. This fact as well as long stay in the political arena explain the choice of Silvio Berlusconi as the basis for this study.
