Asian Pasific region is becoming the main focus of international relations in XXI century. Japan in this unsustainable and rapidly changing economic circumstances remains one of the leading actors in the world, and japanese companies are becoming more and more involved in globalization process, extending their overseas production capability year after year.Thus, it becomes practically and theoretically important to understand the interdependance between economical ties in the region and political decisions made by governments. This paper examines the effect of Japanese economic (incl. investment) policy on its political behavior and vice versa - realization of political goals by the means of investment policy.
