Measuring State Involvement in National Oil and Gas Company: Introducing GIN Composite Index

<div>This dissertation proposes a composite index entitled &lsquo;Government</div><div>Intervention in National Oil and Gas Company (GIN)&rsquo;. The index is built upon the</div><div>theory of Authority-Agency and Neoclassical theory of Market failure, tailored with</div><div>specifications of National Oil and Gas Companies. The referent index has been tested</div><div>in assessing the performance of Rosneft and Gazprom. The demonstration implies the</div><div>requirement of additional trials for further development. It has nevertheless shows a</div><div>number of underlying factors concerning the government involvement and their</div><div>impact on the performance of the companies.</div>
