Left political movements in the USA in 1960's

<p>Studies on the protests of the sixties in America describes the events of the protests and their participants. Hence the idea of ​​the American political left movement in the sixties as a protest against the war in Vietnam and racism, and had achieved its disappeared after the problem was resolved. But few have seen that initially sprang up around other problems of American society and had an ideological basis for their activities.</p><p>Problem of this research is the process of ideological change in organizations of the left movement in the 1960&#39;s in the USA. Some researchers observed the process of radicalization in the American protest movement in the sixties. Studies detailing the transformation of ideas of the American left are Richard Guarasci, Donald Phillips and Wini Breines researches. It is necessary to examine the point of view that claims deepening into radicalism of left movements in the second half of the sixties.</p><p>Object of study of this work is left political movement in the U.S. in 1960&rsquo;s. This study is an analyse of process of radicalization as an example of Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) movement. This paper examine program documents of the organization, as well as speeches, articles and pamphlets issued for the activity of the organization.</p><p>&nbsp;The aim is to track changes in the ideological underpinnings of activity of the left American movement of the sixties as an example of a central organization - Students for a Democratic Society. To implement this goal following objectives have been identified.</p><p>&nbsp;To do this it is necessary to know about the influences ideology of the left movement of the sixties, ideas which formed SDS. It is also necessary to know the history of the appearance of movement and participation of SDS in sixties protests in the United States.</p><p>On the basis of documents and materials, whose authors were members of the SDS, trace the transformation of ideas during the 1960s - a decade of protest activity.</p><p>Left movement in the 1960s in the United States has undergone an ideological transformation. A striking example of this process is Students for a Democratic Society. From the analysis of official documents and SDS articles and speeches of members of the organization, the idea of ​​SDS has undergone a change from moral values ​​to radical view of society. The original idea of ​​the reformation of society through participatory democracy turned into an anti-imperialist U.S. criticism.</p>
