Car culture of street racing: aspects of symbolic consumption

<p>This project is intended to cover the situation of consumption in Russian street racing community. The main aim of this study is to identify the meanings that members of the street racing community attach to the symbolic consumption of cars. In order to achieve this aim, qualitative sociological methods will be used: the author will carry out 15 semi structured interviews with members of the street racing community. The conclusions drawn from the work carried out can be helpful in understanding the concept of symbolic consumption and how social structure is dependent on consumption styles. This research also provides stimulus for further sociological research in the area of automobility.&nbsp;</p>
