Analysis of the Investment Attractiveness of the Republic of Komi

<p>Bachelor work titled: &lsquo;Analysis of the Investment Attractiveness of the Republic of Komi&rsquo; contains 12 pictures, 3 tables and 8 applications. Total amount of the work is 57 pages with 37 literature sources that were used during writing the research. Keywords: socio-economic development of a region, investment attractiveness, investment potential and risk, investment in fixed assets, foreign investment.</p><p>The status of each region effects the whole economic situation of a country in the world community. In turn, regions have to attract additional funds, besides regional budget that can&rsquo;t provide all investment projects, to reach the socio-economic welfare. Moreover, in modern conditions regions have to attract not only national investments, but also foreign. Thus, the issue of the attractiveness of a region for investors, especially foreign ones, is <strong>actual</strong> and necessary for study.</p><p><strong>The aim</strong> of the research is the analysis of the investment attractiveness of one of Russia&rsquo;s regions &ndash; the Republic of Komi, especially among foreign investors. <strong>The object</strong> of the study is the Republic of Komi, <strong>the subject</strong> is the investment attractiveness.</p><p>Through the literature review it was revealed that in works about the investment attractiveness of regions authors calculate integral indexes of investment potential and risk using similar methodologies. However, after analyzing surveys of potential investors it was identified that there are additional indicators that are necessary for investors, besides factors of the investment climate, for example, participation of foreign countries in the investment activities of a region. Moreover, it has been suggested that indexes of the investment attractiveness of the Republic of Komi and the amount of investment received from foreign countries influence each other. So, it is possible to focus on the behavior of foreign revenues when you take decision to invest in the Republic of Komi. <strong>The scientific novelty</strong>: in work it is shown the connection between indexes of the investment potential and risk and the amount of foreign investment in the Republic of Komi; it is proposed some activities that have to be done to raise the attractiveness for national and foreign investors. <strong>Practical importance</strong>: for local authorities of the Republic of Komi &ndash; it is proposed some activities for raising the attractiveness; for potential investors &ndash; it is illustrated the necessity of the indicator of the amount of foreign investment.</p><p>The research consists of three chapters.</p><p>In <strong>the first chapter</strong>, &lsquo;Theoretical approaches to the evaluation of the investment attractiveness of Russia&rsquo;s regions&rsquo;, firstly, it is considered factors of integral indexes of investment potential and risk. Secondly, it is given examples of ratings that a potential investor can use. Thirdly, it is shown the role of foreign countries in the investment attractiveness of a region. Finally, it is revealed preferences of Russian and foreign investors about investing in subjects of the Russian Federation.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>The second chapter</strong> is devoted to the study of the general features of the investment attractiveness of the Republic of Komi by analyzing its places in different ratings that show the socio-economic situation in regions. Furthermore, it is considered the interaction of the republic with foreign countries and it is given some examples of international cooperation.</p><p>In <strong>the third chapter</strong> it is calculated dynamics of various indicators, such as amount of total and foreign investment, the main industry investment, the total number of enterprises with foreign capital and others. In addition, it is provided a comparison of some indicators of the republic with other regions of Northwestern Federal District. Also it is confirmed the link between the index of the investment attractiveness and the amount of foreign investment.</p><p>As a result, it is revealed that in the Republic of Komi the volume of foreign investment is too close to the index of the risk. If the risk raise foreign investment will fall down. Moreover, the amount of foreign investment is more sensitive to a change of the attractiveness than other investment.&nbsp;</p>
