The Abstract

The first theoretical part of the work is related with the review of the Semantic Web. The Semantic Web is a new direction, the purpose of which is to provide information in a form suitable for machine processing. The first part tell about the architecture of the Semantic Web and technologies, such as:

• XML Extensible Markup Language.

• URI Uniform Resource Identifier - provides a simple and extensible way of identifying resources.

• RDF Resource Description Framework.

• N3 (Notation 3) - a short way of writing RDF models.

• Ontology - standard ways of describing relationships between data objects.

The second theoretical part deals with the overview of BPM (Business Process Management). All activities of a business or organization can be represented as a set of business processes designed to achieve any goal. BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation) is used for graphic descriptions of business processes.

The third part describes the practical application of the ideas of the Semantic Web to the management of business processes, namely the description of all the elements of language XPDL to object-oriented language C#. In addition, examples of this description were shown in the work.

Purposes:

1. Investigate new direction, such as the Semantic Web.

2. Overview of Business Process Management (BPM) and Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN).

3. Investigate language XPDL, for describing the definition and implementation of workflows.

4. Develop a program that displays the elements of the language XPDL in an object oriented language C#.

5. Provide examples of using the program.

Both of these directions, the Semantic Web and Business Process Management, appeared less than 15 years ago and now they are highly developed and are attracting increasing attention. Program written in the course of work allows you to combine these two areas, allowing more efficient work with elements of business processes.

                Key words:

                Semantic Web

Ontology

Business-process

BPM

BPMN

XPDL
