Construct validity of the scale "Perseverance" in Russian-speaking population

<p>Currently, more and more researchers began to pay attention to the peculiarities of temperament, character, personality traits when considering a successful person. Of particular interest are the characteristics that can predict high efficiency doing certain activities - educational and professional. Perseverance - is one of the personality structures, foretelling success in business. As psychological education needs perseverance diagnostic tool, which will have the necessary characteristics of reliability and validity, construct measured in pure form as defined in science. Scale GRIT, aimed at diagnosing perseverance, personal quality, providing long-term goals, originally created in English.</p><p>Validation study is devoted to the Russian version of GRIT - scale &quot;Perseverance.&quot; The scale contains 10 statements with four variant response scale, the most suitable for the Russian-speaking sample according to a study that demonstrated the most appropriate indicators of response items (n = 5045, three research groups with 3, 4 and 5 response scale questions).</p><p>Construct validity is confirmed by an identical technique factor structure of the scale English and Russian (CFA, EFA), similar performance is correlated with the measured constructs (performance, mental processes - shifting attention, voluntary attention, the stability and the degree of concentration of attention, selective attention, the volume of short-term memory).</p>
